Abstract

This research aimed to study construct validity of factors affecting on competitiveness of ocean freight forwarders in Thailand by analyzing empirical evidence. The samples of the study were 208 ocean freight forwarders in Thailand. The research instrument was factors evaluation form to investigate factors affecting on competitiveness of ocean freight forwarders in Thailand and test with reliability = 0.973. Content validity was analyzed by experts, and construct validity was analyzed by using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) in LISREL program. The results of the study showed that the first order confirmatory factor analysis got χ2 = 91.75, df = 67 (p = 0.024), χ2/df= 1.37, GFI = 0.94, CFI =0.99 and RMSEA = 0.042. The second order confirmatory factor analysis got χ2 = 75.85, df = 65 (p = 0.17), χ2/df= 1.17, GFI = 0.95, CFI =1.00 and RMSEA = 0.028. The results of the study also showed that the empirical evidence was consistent, and Goodness of Fit Index passed the criteria. Furthermore, the model of factors affecting on competitiveness of ocean freight forwarders in Thailand was consistent to the theoretical framework, and it can be use with ocean freight forwarders context in Thailand.
